چکیده
We report on Chandra imaging observations of the Galactic Unidentified γ-ray source GEV J1809-2327, comparing the X-ray images with new VLA 1.46 GHz and 4.86 GHz maps. The X-ray images reveal a point source connected to a non-thermal X-ray/radio nebula, supporting a pulsar/wind model for the γ-ray emitter. We also detect numerous X-ray sources from the young stellar association in the adjacent HII region S32. Subject headings: gamma rays: observations – pulsars: general – supernova remnants

Two Pulsar Wind Nebulae: Chandra/xmm-newton Imaging of Gev J1417−6100
We report on Chandra ACIS and XMM-Newton MOS/PN imaging observations of two pulsar wind nebulae (K3/PSR J1420−6048 and G313.3+0.1=‘the rabbit’) associated with the Galactic unidentified γ-ray source GeV J1417−6100. With the excellent ACIS imaging the very energetic pulsar PSR J1420−6048 is separated from its surrounding nebula. This nebula has surprisingly little compact structure, although a f...
متن کاملINTEGRAL observations of PSR J 1811 − 1925 and its associated
We present spectral measurements made in the soft (20–100 keV) gamma-ray band of the region containing the composite supernova remnant G11.2-0.3 and its associated pulsar PSR J1811−1925. Analysis of INTEGRAL/IBIS data allows characterisation of the system above 10 keV. The IBIS spectrum is best fitted by a power law having photon index Γ = 1.8 +0.4 −0.3 and a 20–100 keV flux of 1.5 ×10 −11 erg ...
متن کاملEG J 1809 − 2328 Mallory
We report the discovery of a partial ∼ 2 diameter non-thermal radio shell coincident with Taz, the pulsar wind nebula (PWN) in the error box of the apparently variable γ-ray source 3EG J1809−2328. We propose that this radio shell is a newly identified supernova remnant (SNR G7.5−1.7) associated with the PWN. The SNR surrounds an amorphous region of thermal X-rays detected in archival ROSAT and ...
متن کاملHIGH LATITUDE GAMMA RAYS ASSOCIATED WITH VIRGO
A more detailed analysis is made of the energy spectrum of the diffuse component of extragalactic gamma rays over the range of 0.3- 10 GeV, obtained fromthe EGRET instrument at the Compton Gamma Ray Observatory. The derived excess energy spectrum of high galactic latitude, b > 60°, using intercept method shows that it is correlated with Virgo cluster (over lsr) and average Virgo intensity i...
متن کامل30TH INTERNATIONAL COSMIC RAY CONFERENCE Future imaging atmospheric telescopes: performance of possible array configura- tions for gamma photons in the GeV-TeV range
The future of ground based gamma ray astronomy lies in large arrays of Imaging Atmospheric Cherenkov Telescopes (IACT) with better capabilities: lower energy threshold, higher sensitivity, better resolution and background rejection. Currently, designs for the next generation of IACT arrays are being explored by various groups. We have studied possible configurations with a large number of teles...
